Packing List

So I've read a couple of blogs and emailed current Peace Corps volunteers in order to get an idea of some essential packing items. I got a lot of great ideas and compiled a huge list of things to bring.

The good and bad:  Peace Corps does give us baggage limits (to help with limiting ourselves). All trainees are allowed 2 bags that weigh no more than 80 pounds total. No bag is suppose to weigh more than 40 pounds.

Currently, I'm still packing--unpacking and repacking things to make the most of my EMS hiking bag and decent-sized suitcase. For now everything that I want to bring is fitting, but the space in my second suitcase is dwindling fast. We'll see what makes the final pack. I've posted a photo of my first packed bag.

For now, here's what I'm planning to bring:
